Newman Reader

Lately I've been reading Ven. Newman's sermons and other writings. There's a great resource on the web called Newman Reader which has all of his writings, plus other writings about Newman. The good thing about sermons is that they are relatively short, and they are meant to be listened to by ordinary people moreso than strictly theologians. In some ways it's a shame that the Church has largely replaced sermons with homilies since Vatican II (although homilies have their benefits, too). I like sermons because they deal with a main topic, therefore they're useful to be read or listened to later on, while homilies are nice because they explain the readings. In any case, check out Newman's stuff!
